Redefining Activewear: Alicia Cousins’ Movement

Last week, CEO Times spotlighted Pixie & Sherbet’s founder, Alicia Cousins, for her vision of activewear built by a busy mum, for busy women everywhere. Read on to see how her personal story shaped a brand that champions style, comfort, and sustainability.

From Motherhood to the Drawing Board

From the moment I brought my daughter home, my wardrobe felt like it belonged to someone else. I lived in oversized joggers and baggy tees—comfy, yes, but I never felt “out and about” ready. Between late-night feeds and early school runs, I needed pieces that could stretch, recover, and still look polished when I dashed out the door.
All my old shorts felt too revealing for errands or playground visits, and the leggings I tried either pinched in uncomfortable places or slid down mid-chase. I wanted comfort without compromising on confidence, but nothing seemed to hit that sweet spot.
That frustration sparked my lightbulb moment. What if activewear could be both effortlessly stylish and supportive for a post-partum body? I sketched high-waisted patterned leggings, soft yet sculpting fabrics, and tops that moved with every lift and lean. In creating Pixie & Sherbet, I didn’t just design clothes—I reignited a piece of myself I thought motherhood had tucked away, proving that style and self-expression can flourish at any stage of life.

Building with Purpose: Our Core Values

  • Effortless style: minimalist lines and elevated cuts that transition from yoga class to school run, keeping you polished and put-together with zero sacrifice in comfort.
  • Inclusivity (sizes 2XS–6XL): adjustable silhouettes, strategic paneling, and a full-size range ensure every body shape is celebrated and supported.
  • Sustainability: crafted from recycled fabrics and printed with eco-friendly NeoPigment™ and water-based inks, all packaged in low-waste materials so you can love your look and your impact.

Sustainability in Every Stitch

Our eco-commitment begins with every thread and finishes with responsible packaging.

  • NeoPigment™ inks: vibrant, fade-resistant colour printed without water or harsh solvents, cutting chemical waste by over 90%.
  • Recycled fabrics: high-performance yarns spun from post-consumer bottles and factory offcuts, delivering soft, durable, moisture-wicking comfort.
  • Low-waste packaging: compostable mailers, recycled-content boxes, and minimalist labels that keep landfill contributions to a minimum.
